Visit Chiang Mai, Luang chiang dao province during the green season for the view and an easy trek at the base of Doi Luang Chiang Dao (DO NOT CLIMB THE PEAK).
Early rainy season is another excellent time to visit Chiang Mai and its new UNESCO World Heritage site, Luang Chiang Dao. The early rains revive the forest back into life, and scenery is rich and an ideal retreat for escaping the city. The green season also gives us a quiet time with significantly fewer tourists.
This is a weekend nature retreat trip departing from Chaingmai. The trail is easy to moderate (7km). We’ll stay near Chiang Dao mountain foot, where we’ll be able to view the peak break from the clouds or sometimes hide beneath them. On the way to Chaing Dao, we will also stop at Wat Ban Den, one of Thailand’s most magnificent temples that is less well-known to tourists, and a sticky waterfall for some fun.
*There are no plans to deviate from the plan unless there is an unforeseen situation
Day 1
8.00: Pickup from Your hotel in Chiang Mai near Old Town or Nimman area
8.30: Pickup from the Airport
9.30: Visit Ban Den Temple. This temple is in Chaigmain. It was originally built in the Lanna style, which is common in the north of Thailand. In 2017, the temple was renovated with a new interpretation of Lanna art that didn’t stick to the common looks. This gave the temple a more modern look while keeping its traditional meaning. In the context of building. A lot of great art is in this structure. Not too well-known among tourists at the moment. This temple is the well hidden gem of Chiang Mai
10.30:Visit Namtok Bua Thong-Nam Phu Chet Si National Park. Fun time with the sticky waterfall! Most foreigners know this national park for its sticky waterfall, whilst Thai people know it best for its emerald pool, which was the home of the great Naka King. The waterfall allows you to walk on the surface while the water runs through without slipping. The mineral on the top, calcium carbonate, keeps moss from growing, so the surface of this waterfall is rough and can be walked on with bare feet.
12.30: Lunch
14.00: Visit Chiang Dao Cave Temple: The famous cave and temple in Chiang Dao District. The cave was filled with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. The pool in front of the cave with the forest background made this temple look like a magical planet from an old movie.
16.00: Visit Dao Luang Chiang Dao Viewpoint. Chiang Dao Mountain, a site recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing afternoon. We’ll drive up to the overlook and enjoy the view. If the weather is pleasant. The mountain’s reflection in the late afternoon light will make the view magnificent. If it rains, clouds and mists will envelop the mountain and create a verdant environment that is also worth visiting.
