Overview
This trip takes you on an unforgettable journey through some of Thailand’s unique natural and historical wonders, starting with a starry night at the geological marvel of Lalu in Sra Kaew province, followed by a sunrise at the ancient Phanom Rung Temple in Buriram province. The trip offers a blend of stargazing, cultural exploration, and natural beauty, concluding with a relaxing return to Bangkok.

Itinerary

Day 0:
20:50: Check-in at BTS Onnut Station.
21:00: Depart from the parking lot, heading towards Lalu, Sra Kaew Province.

Day 1:
01:30: Arrive at Lalu Geological Park.
- Explore the fascinating natural phenomenon shaped by rain erosion and the collapse of earth layers. Over time, these formations have created stunning shapes, like columns and cliffs that resemble walls or rocky faces. The shapes constantly change annually with wind and rain.
- Stargazing session: Observe the stars and the Milky Way as it rises in the southeast and sets in the south. This celestial display lasts for about 4 hours.
- Prepare hot water and snacks to enjoy during the stargazing.
03:30: Depart from Lalu, heading to Phanom Rung Historical Park in Buriram (approximately 2 hours of travel).
05:00: Arrive at Phanom Rung Temple, Buriram Province.
- Purchase tickets and enter the temple grounds. Experience the unique natural phenomenon where the sunrise passes through the 15 doorways of the temple. Phanom Rung Temple is a Hindu temple influenced by Khmer architecture.
06:00: Witness the first rays of sunlight streaming through the temple doorways.
06:30 – 07:30: Take a leisurely walk around the Phanom Rung Temple, exploring the historical site.
08:00: Breakfast at Phulawa Cafe & Farm. Enjoy the meal while observing sustainable agriculture practices. You can also purchase organic seasonal vegetables or rice produced from volcanic soil, awarded a 5-star OTOP.
10:00: Begin the journey back to Bangkok, stopping for lunch and restroom breaks at gas stations along the way.
17:00: Arrive back in Bangkok and conclude the trip.
