A Night trip from Bangkok to a flower field in the darkness, we are going to watch the once a year meteor shower, which falls on December 14th night from 8PM – 11PM this year. 

Accuweather forecast the weather on Thursday 14th to be a clear sky with around 18°C, shooting stars are predicted to fire up to 150 drops per hour. The phenomenon is visible to the naked eye especially in the dark night sky with no light distribution.

This place is a 2.30 hours drive from Bangkok. We will spend around 2 hours on the platform with some blankets, hot drinks and some snacks. We leave Bangkok at 6.30PM and return around midnight.

*There are no plans to deviate from the plan unless there is an unforeseen situation

18.30: Leave Bangkok from caltex gas station near Ari BTS. 

21.00: Reach star watching place, our star watching meteor shower spot. 

• We are going to the platform, star watching in the flower field, with some hot tea and snacks. 
• We normally need 30 minutes in the dark to adjust to the darkness, then we will get to see more stars. 
• We can lay down on the platform with some blankets. 

22.30: The moon is completely raised. We will return back to Bangkok 

01.00: Return to Bangkok, we will drop off at the same BTS Station.

The Geminids are a prolific meteor shower caused by the object 3200 Phaethon, which is thought to be a Palladian asteroid with a “rock comet” orbit. This would make the Geminids, together with the Quadrantids, the only major meteor showers not originating from a comet.
