Hike a newly introduced trail from military basecamp to the border between Myaman and Thailand. See the Tanaosri Alpine mountain line and a chance to see the sea of fog. Camp near the river steam and visit the newly popular unique Mon Market and visit a park to see peacock and deer in the 2 days, 1 night weekend trip.
Just 3 hours drive from Bangkok, we are going to visit the newly developed trail. This hiking trail has its highlight for the overlook of the Tanaosri alpine mountain line. We start hiking from the campsite nearby, hike from the early morning and return for a long distance day hike. This trip is suitable for intermediate level hikers who would like to try something more challenging, along with the visiting of off-the-beaten destinations in Ratchaburi.
*There are no plans to deviate from the plan unless there is an unforeseen situation
07.55: Meet at the Gas Station near Wutthakat BTS Station
08.00: Van leaves from the station driving to Ratchaburi Province. The journey takes about 2 hours. We are going to stop between the way for the gas station break.
11.00: Arrive at the Suan Phueng District, which is known as Switzerland of Thailand. The weather is chilly all year round (it’s still pretty hot during the day as it’s Thailand anyway).
We are going to visit the OhPoi Market, which is the new tourist attraction in Ratchaburi. The market is located near the small river stream. The highlight of this market is, it’s a hill tribe market. We will see the unique decoration of this market, we can also try the local hill tribe snack from the market too. (Lunch box is provided)
12.30: Leave for Kaeng Som Maew Queen Sirikit Forest Park. This is a park with a big water stream and canyon. This park is also famous for seeing animals like peacocks and deers.
13.00: Arrive at the park. Enjoy our time at the park, we will see animals and an easy route to a small canyon stream.
15.00: Van leaves from the park head to the campsite.
16.00: Arrive at the campsite. We are going to camp close to our trail, it’s a private campsite run by a local. There’s a small river stream running near the campsite. The temperature is chilly all year round. (Last week it was read at 12 degree at the coldest)
Set up our tent and enjoy your evening before dinner.
18.00: Dinner, after dinner we are going to relax for the rest of the night.
Day 2: Hiking Day
05.30: Wake up, get ready for the trail. Get coffee or juice and some sandwiches to give you energy to hike a long trail. We will also pack energy snacks and water for energy during our long hike. We get into the van, then a short drive to the entrance. We will pass the military checkpoint. The area we are hiking is the connecting area between Myanmar and Thai’s border, the military is in charge of the area.
06.00: Start hiking. Today the hiking distance is 16km in total. The elevation gain is around 800 meter. This is rated as challenging to difficult. It’s suitable for intermediate hiking who would like to try a more challenging hike with longer distance. (Please see the hiking details).
If you are still unsure about your ability to hike 16km. There’s a breakpoint at the 5km distance. It’s a great spot with amazing views of the Tanaosri alpine. You can rest for the group here if you wish to not continue the trail. Which will make your total distance of 10km.
12.00: Return to the starting point. After that, we return to the campsite to take down our tents, and shower. We will prepare water and lunch for you.
14.00: Return to Bangkok
17.30-18.00: Back to Bangkok and end the trip.
