This campsite is one of the easy to go sites to see the stars. It’s located in the middle of hills, forest and a dam. It has very low light noise from the cities, giving us a higher chance to see the milky way in the dark moon night! We are going to set up our camp near the waterfall. The sound of the waterfall is a great natural lullaby to give us energy before going back to the city. 

Huai Mae Khamin Waterfall has been a hidden gem located in Kanchanaburi province. This waterfall was recently introduced to the public. There are 7 levels of waterfall waiting for us to visit. This blue waterfall is surrounded by green and flowery scenery. It’s voted to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand.

Day 1: Saturday 17th 

8.00: Van leaves from Bangkok (it takes around 4 hours from Bangkok to reach the national park entrance, we will stop at the gas station for a 15-20 minute break)

12.30: Arrive at The National Park then we have lunch at the National Park Canteen (Not included) 

14.00: After lunch, we will set up our tent, have a walk to the top level waterfall (National park still not allow us to swim in the waterfall), but we still get to hike the route to see if there’s any chance. 

16.00: Return to the campsite, rest and keep energy for the star watching night.

18.00: We can watch the twilight sky from our campsite, then we have dinner at the canteen (not included) 

20.00-23.00: Start Hunting Time!! The milky visible to see, we may take our sleeping bag and mattress to see the stars & milky way! 

Day 2: Sunday 18th 

7.30 – 8.00: Breakfast at the National park restaurant (Not included) 

8.30: Hike the Srinakarin Dam and the lower waterfalls

12.00: Back to the camp have lunch at the National Park canteen, tidy up the campsite. 

13.00: Leave the National Park and get back to Bangkok. We will stop at Meena Cafe fo a coffee Break at the rice field cafe, with the amazing view of Tham Suea Temple 

15.00: We will stop at Meena Cafe fo a coffee Break at the rice field cafe, with the amazing view of Tham Suea Temple 

16.00: Leave for Bangkok

19.00-20.00: Back to Bangkok and end the trip 🙂

How long does the hike take?

• The hike is the combination between staircases and national trail uphill. The trail is clearmark. We rate this hike to be between easy (if you have regular exercise) to Moderate 
• The whole waterfall from the 1st level to the 7th is around 2.7 km in distance. Our campsite is in the middle, the upper trail is mostly national trail, the lower is more staircases.
• The further walk to the dam is around 1 km
