Budget Camping VS Luxury Glamping! How much do they cost?

How much does it cost to go camping? what about glamping? We know they are different, but HOW MUCH are the differences between those two worlds?

So, We dig on Lazada.com to find the cheapest Camping equipment that probably good enough to make you survive a night outdoor, and the most expensive item that make you wanna sit at the site all day and night.

We were pretty surprise how cheap these gears are, and even more surprise to find the price of the most expensive items. Like, for real!?

Here we are… Budget Camping VS Luxury Glamping, How much do they cost? Let find out!!!

1. Tent

The most important item for Camping is your tent. It’ll protect you from the dark night and give you privacy. You can keep your belongings inside your tent, but never the food!!

The Cheapest one we found was from Big C. Only for 199 THB you can technically go on a camping trip. Please make sure you go on the dry month. We are pretty sure this one is not waterproof.

The most Luxury one goes go NorDisk Tent. It fits between 2 to 4 people, came in a cute little hut shape. Absolutely beautiful. This tent probably request 2-4 people to set it up as well. Price, 29,500 THB

2. Sleeping Mattress

Sleeping Mattress work to prevent your body heat to transfer to the cold ground while sleeping. It helps you get less cold in the middle of the night. The secondary work is to make your sleep a bit better.

The budget one we found on Lazada was the military style, the same style you’ll find if you rent the mattress from Thai national parks. It make of sponge, they are surprising comfy compare to the price.

The oppose is the self-inflatable mattress.  This type is the best for backcountry style of hiking. Without the air, it could be as small as your smart phone, probably weight little less than your new iPhone too.  They are very expensive though.

3. Sleeping Bag

You probably don’t need sleeping bag hiking/ camping in Thailand. They are normally made for cold temperature. The minimum temperature normally starts from 25degree, which not always the case here.

However, Sleeping Bag is the TOP MOST important item when the temperature go below 15 degree, especially Backcountry Camping.

4. Hiking Shoes

You were hiking down on the sloppy trail with trekking poles, wearing the most expensive shoes, thinking to yourself “THIS IS HARDER THAN I THOUGHT, BETTER BECAREFUL”. Suddenly, the porter passing you by, carrying 25kg of other people’s bag, and that make you wonder… “What kind of shoes does he/she wearing?”

Well, here is the answer you have been searching for… Stand-Doi Shoes. The whole thing was made of one piece-rubber which prevent from slipping or shoes breaking apart. This is the most famous shoes among the porter (in Thailand) The price for the shoes is only 65 THB for a pair. They don’t make for a long hike, though.

On the other hand, our beautiful North Face shoes, has the part that protect your ankles, also it makes you look kinda-badass.

5. Backpack

Reaching the age of 30, backpain is always a problem. Backpack is one of the most important item you want to invest your money to get good one. On top of that, wearing it right take most weight off your shoulder. The best backpack is the one that fit your body, height, size and your needs.

6. Table

The 470 THB for the foldable aluminum table, it can adjust the hike and will last though the heavy rain in the middle of the night. It came in royal blue color which doesn’t help much…

But hey, the wood furniture always has it place in the corner of our hearts.

7. Outdoor Chair

We have a chair so we don’t have to sit on the ground. Chairs also make people watching even more enjoyable.

8. Cooking Stove

Most of the National Park not allow to make the fire for a very good reason. Cooking Stoves are pretty necessary for camping if you plan to make yourself a cup of coffee or nice meals.

The Budget cooking stoves are the best item we ever bought from Lazada. They are very light and adjustable to use with Gas bottle that sells at 7-11. It also came has lighter attach in it too.

The MSR stoves heat the water real fast, it sounds like a jet engine though.

9. Cooking Set

You need them for cooking 🙂  These set are made to fit in your backpack with super light weight!

10. Thermos

The thermos keep your hot water hot, and cold water cold10

11. Coffee Mug

To hold your hot drink

For a quick set, you will only need 1,976 THB for Budget Camping Gear. The whole Glamping set will cost you 101,604 THB if you need a full set.

Remember that the best gear is the one that suit your needs most. Go on camping and meet the nature more 🙂
