Hike the summit of South East Asia’s tallest peak.

Kota Kinabalu holds the distinction of being Southeast Asia’s highest peak. Since the dry season is between March and September, it is when most locals suggest visiting. Mount Kinabalu is best climbed in the months, when temperatures are milder and rainfall is less likely.

Bangkok Hiking is planning a journey that will take two days and one night to reach the summit.

Day 1: Sunday 02nd April
*Must be at the hotel before the van picks up time.
06.00: Transfer from the hotel to Kinabalu Park Headquarter, journey takes around 2 hrs journey. Once we arrive at the park, we get registration, get lunch pack
08.00: The local guide will arrange for all necessary registrations, assign you a mountain guide and apply for your ID TAG

• Remember to wear your ID TAG at all times
• You’ll then be transferred to the starting point – Timpohon Gate – where your journey and quest to the summit of Borneo’s highest mountain begins
• The climb will take approximately 4-5 hours
• The trek will pass by different vegetation zones from Oak and Chestnut to mossy and eventually to alpine type of vegetation.
• Arrive Panalaban Base Camp @ 3272m and check into your accommodation

16.00: Buffet Dinner at Laban Rata Restaurant and overnight

Day 2: Monday 03rd April
02.00: Wake up for early supper and depart for continuation of journey towards the summit of Mount Kinabalu.

• The journey up to the Low’s peak @ 4,095m will test your fitness and determination. Depending on speed of trekking, you might be able to experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mt. Kinabalu if weather permits

07.00: Descend back to Panalaban Base Camp for late breakfast and check out

• Trek down to Timpohon Gate for transfer back to the Kinabalu Park Headquarter
• Buffet Lunch will be served at the Balsam restaurant or Liwagu Restaurant after completing your climb

15.00-17.00: Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu City. Journey takes around 2 hrs
17.00: Return to the hotel and

• Start: Guest house (3,353 m)

• Distance: 2.8 km
• Elevation Gain: +800 meters
• Difficulty: Challenge to Difficult
• After the peak trek 2.8 km back to the guest house then 6 km down to the gate
• Total Distance Day 2 is 10.6 km
